“I am pleased to be campaigning across West Fife and Coastal Villages to introduce a Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) as an alternative the very expensive PFI/PPP arrangements currently being used to finance the building and running of new schools, hospitals etc”. So said William G Walker, local SNP Council Candidate at last night’s SNP ward meeting.

“The Tories introduced PFI and Labour continued with ‘son of PFI’, the PPP. After 3rd May, current contracts will be unaffected but it will be for the newly elected Fife Council and other public bodies to choose between the two systems of funding for planned and future projects. Under SFT, The SNP will match current plans for improvements to our schools and hospitals ‘brick for brick’.

Len Woods, speaking at a weekend constituency meeting, made a scathing attack on Fife Council and the Scottish Executive over the New Town Centre.
